1. What Information Do We Collect?
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us, including:
- Submission profile: name, email, date of birth, gender, city/state, country, bodyweight, height, grip training experience, hang time, attempt date, notes, occupation (optional), partner gym (optional)
- Video proof: URLs you provide (YouTube, Drive, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) and, when you upload a file, a copy stored for review and portal playback (see retention below)
- Portal account data: magic-link sessions, hang history, training logs, card/avatar preferences, public Watch preference, challenge standings, achievement email tracking
- Guardian fields (minors 13-17): guardian full name and digital consent checkbox
- Technical / analytics: device and browser type, approximate region, page views, and events via Google Analytics (GA4) when enabled; Cloudflare may process request logs for security and performance
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Online submission is for athletes 13 and older.
2. How Do We Process Your Information?
We process your information to:
- Operate the leaderboard, monthly challenges, championships, and Athlete Portal
- Verify hangs, prevent fraud, and maintain competition integrity
- Compute Grip Age™ and related stats from profile + hang data
- Send transactional email (submission received, approval/deny, magic links, challenge notices)
- Improve the site (analytics) and comply with law
3. Processors and Service Providers
We use infrastructure processors under contract or standard terms, including:
- Cloudflare (Pages hosting, CDN, Turnstile bot protection, Workers/API edge)
- Supabase (database for athletes, submissions, sessions, training logs; object storage for hang video files when uploaded)
- Resend (transactional email delivery)
- Google (Workspace email where configured; Analytics GA4 when enabled)
- Third-party video hosts you choose (YouTube, Drive, etc.) remain under their privacy terms for any link you provide
We do not sell personal data to marketers.
4. When and With Whom Do We Share Your Personal Information?
When a submission is approved, your name, location, and performance metrics may appear on the public leaderboard and challenge boards. Your video link is optional on the public leaderboard: private or unlisted links work for verification; we only show a Watch button if you leave public Watch enabled. We may use performance stats and (with public Watch or separate promo consent) linked video for WDHC promotions per the Media Release. We share data with processors above as needed to run the Services, or when required by law.
5. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?
- Leaderboard / competition records: retained for historical integrity of the sport and rankings unless you request erasure and applicable law requires deletion
- Video URLs: retained for verification and integrity notes
- Uploaded hang files: retained while useful for review, portal playback, integrity, and historical board context; we may remove files after a reasonable period or on a verified erasure request (public leaderboard stats may remain in anonymized or name-only form where needed for sport history)
- Portal sessions: short-lived magic-link sessions; expired tokens are discarded
- Transactional email metadata: delivery logs with our email processor as needed to operate the service
- Analytics logs: retained per Google Analytics / Cloudflare defaults (typically months, not forever)
- Support email: as long as needed to resolve the request

6. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?
We use HTTPS, access-controlled admin tools, service-role keys kept off the public site, and reasonable technical and organizational measures. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. What Are Your Privacy Rights?
In some regions, such as the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, and Canada, you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access and obtain a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure (the "right to be forgotten"); (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information; and (iv) if applicable, to data portability. In certain circumstances, you may also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information. If an EU athlete requests that we delete their data, we are legally obligated to comply.
