1. How Video Submissions Work
Video proof may be a third-party link and/or an optional file upload. Reviewers use your link or uploaded file to verify your hang. If you upload a file, WDHC may store a copy for review, your Athlete Portal, and (if you leave Watch public) a short finish clip. Links to YouTube, Google Drive (anyone with the link), and similar platforms remain fully supported.
Two layers of consent (aligned with the submit form):
- Required Media Release checkbox: You allow WDHC to access your linked video for verification and integrity review.
- Public Watch (optional): Leave Watch public to show a leaderboard Watch button and allow promotional use of that link. Check “Keep my video private” to verify only. Hang time, name, and Grip Age™ can still appear on the board either way. Private or unlisted platform links are fine for verification.
2. Grant of Rights
By accepting this release at submit (required checkbox), you grant WDHC a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use your name, biographical information, and performance data (including Grip Age™) for the leaderboard and championships, and to access your linked video for verification. When public Watch is enabled (or you otherwise authorize promotional use), that license also covers linking to, embedding, or excerpting your third-party video for:
- Operating and promoting the leaderboard and championships
- News and editorial coverage
- Historical record of the sport
This license covers linking to, embedding, or excerpting content from your third-party video when you authorize public Watch display or when WDHC uses your approved submission in promotions · not possession of the underlying file.
3. Attribution
WDHC will use reasonable efforts to credit athletes in promotional use.
4. No Product Endorsement
WDHC will not use your likeness to imply endorsement of commercial products without separate written consent.
5. Third-Party Platforms
You represent you have the right to share the link with WDHC for verification and, if you choose, for public leaderboard display. WDHC is not responsible for takedowns, privacy settings, or availability on the third-party platform.
6. Minors
For athletes under 18, a parent or legal guardian must grant this release. See Parental Consent.
7. Revocation
You may request removal of a public Watch link or cessation of future promotional use. WDHC may retain submission metadata (time, name, verification notes) for competition integrity and historical record, but does not retain copies of your video file.
