Operator: World Dead Hang Championship (Michigan). Policies apply to worlddeadhang.com and competition on this platform.
1. Parties
This Submission Agreement ("Agreement") is between World Dead Hang Championship (Michigan) ("WDHC," "we," "us," or "Company"), and you, the submitting athlete ("Athlete," "you"). By checking the submission agreement box on the WDHC submit form, you enter into this Agreement.
2. Authenticity Certification
You certify under penalty of disqualification and permanent ban that:
- Your submission describes a real dead hang attempt performed by you (or, if you are a guardian submitting for a minor, by the named minor athlete).
- The video you provide (file upload and/or link) is a single continuous, unedited recording of that attempt.
- All performance data you submit (name, date of birth, weight, height, hang time, location, training status) is truthful and accurate to the best of your knowledge.
- You have not used video editing, splicing, speed manipulation, or other means to misrepresent hang duration or form.
3. Unverified Submissions
Most leaderboard submissions begin as unverified. Canonical matrix: Rulebook - Unverified vs verified. For unverified status:
- Any suitable pull-up bar or rig may be used; bar diameter proof is not required.
- Continuous unedited video, overhand grip, straight arms, feet free, no straps/gloves/grip aids. A timer in the video is optional. If omitted, WDHC may add an official timer after approval.
- Every hang requires full body in frame, both hands visible, and feet free for the entire attempt.
- WDHC reviewers may approve your time for leaderboard display without a verified checkmark.
4. Verified Submissions
Every hang (unverified and verified) requires full body in frame for the entire attempt with both hands visible. If you request or claim verified status (the verified checkmark on the leaderboard or championships), you additionally certify that your submission meets all unverified requirements plus the verified column in the Rulebook matrix: 1.25" (32 mm) bar (or independently verifiable brand/model), diameter or setup proof, clear bar surface before the hang, and the hang matching the type you submitted. A close-up is preferred. If the bar is clearly a standard steel pull-up bar of regulation size with no pads, the reviewer may verify it from the clip without a close-up. For a verified standard dead hang both hands stay on the bar. A regrip is unverified standard or verified alternating. Exception: if the hang was filmed at a sanctioned WDHC in-person event, on-video bar diameter, brand, or surface proof is not required; the host regulation bar and event verification cover hardware. You still certify full body, continuous video, and clean form. A timer in the video is optional. See rulebook event exception. Verified hangs are required for championship titles and Pro Division review.
5. Equipment & Grip Standards
For all submissions you agree that:
- Grip is overhand (pronated), thumbs may wrap the bar or stay thumbless.
- No straps, gloves, or grip aids are used; chalk and liquid chalk are encouraged.
- Feet do not touch the ground or receive assistance during the counted hang. Soft elbow bend is fine. Deep bend is an active hang.
- Framing meets the unverified or verified column of the Rulebook matrix as applicable.
6. Incorporation of Rulebook & Policies
This Agreement incorporates by reference the WDHC Official Rulebook, the Competition Integrity Policy, and the Code of Conduct. WDHC may update these documents; material changes will be posted with a revised date. Continued submissions after notice constitute acceptance of updates.
7. Video Link; Video Proof Storage
You may submit video proof as a third-party link (YouTube, Google Drive with anyone-with-the-link access, or similar) and/or as an optional file upload on the submit form. If you upload a file, WDHC may store a copy for review, your Athlete Portal, and (if you leave Watch public) a short finish clip on the site. You represent you have the right to share the video with WDHC for verification and, if you opt in, for public display.
8. Consequences of False Certification
Knowingly false certifications violate this Agreement and the Competition Integrity Policy. WDHC may reject your submission, remove leaderboard entries, revoke verified status, suspend or permanently ban you, and publicly remove records. WDHC may report suspected fraud to relevant platforms or authorities where appropriate.
9. Timing Tolerance
WDHC accepts a timing tolerance of +/-3 seconds between your submitted time and the time verified from video. Discrepancies within this window may be corrected to the verified time without individual notice. Discrepancies exceeding 3 seconds will be recorded at the verified time with athlete notification.
10. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
11. Severability
If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
12. Related Documents
Submitting a hang also requires acceptance of the Participation Waiver, Media Release, Terms & Conditions, and Privacy Policy. Athletes under 18 require Parental / Guardian Consent.
