Why host
- Minimal gear: pull-up bar, one timer, one camera
- A dedicated gym leaderboard on worlddeadhang.com
- Partner nights run as verified hangs on the global board and Grip Age™
- Rules, onboarding, and first-event support from WDHC
Bar and film standards
- Use a 1.25 in / 32 mm bar. Need a bar? We can help coordinate one.
- Strict dead hang: overhand grip, soft elbows OK, feet clear. Same-spot re-grips are OK if at least a fingertip stays on the bar (see the official contact rule). A full hand-off, or moving a hand to a new spot with a complete break, ends the hang.
- Full body in frame for every hang (head to feet, elbows and feet visible). Timer optional (Film Mode or phone/wall clock). If omitted, WDHC adds an official timer after approval.
- No straps, gloves, or wrist wraps. Chalk is encouraged (block or liquid).
Run of show
Plan on about 90 minutes with setup and wrapping up. That leaves about an hour (or longer if you want) for hangs.
- Check-in and post the submit QR (gym board or worlddeadhang.com/submit with your gym selected).
- Staff demo one legal hang on camera (full body; timer optional).
- Open attempts: one clear camera angle. Staff can log name + time as a backup.
- Athletes submit the same night. Optional: show the gym board on a lobby TV.
Staff checklist
- Bar clear of tape, foam, and sticky coatings
- Timer optional: WDHC Film Mode, timer app, or wall clock
- Camera at side or 45° so full body stays visible (elbows and feet in frame)
- No straps or gloves; chalk available and encouraged
- Partner nights are verified hangs only. Film to the rulebook verified standard for every attempt.
- Open the gym board with your partner slug in the URL, then add TV mode. Example: /gym-board?gym=dyno-detroit&tv=1. Central Rock Troy uses
central-rock-troy.
